The town is situated 120 km south of Cracow at the foot of the Tatra Mountains which constitute the border between Poland and Slovakia. The Tatras are the highest mountain range in Carpathian Mountains and have gained the nickname “The Alps in miniature”. Zakopane is the most famous ski resort in Poland. Hundreds of ski lovers come here every year not only because of great skiing possibilities but also because of the fantastic atmosphere and highlanders’ folkore. The main street Krupowki is always full of people visiting shops, cafes, restaurants, discos. A must-see is the famous market where one can find local cheeses, wooden carvings, paintings on glass, traditional sweaters made of wool of sheep and much more.

Pension Lesna
Willa Lesna is situated in a very quiet and picturesque district of Zakopane, some 15 minutes from the city’s centre and the main street Krupowki. It’s close to the ski lifts on Nosal hills and to the most of tourist mountain routes. This stylish wooden house built in highlander style and with a homely atmosphere has rooms for 30 persons. All rooms are equipped with bathrooms and satellite TV. There is also sauna, billiards, fireplace and kitchen. Meals are served in pension Basienka which lies opposite Lesna.
Pension Basienka
Basienka lies at the same street as Lesna, a few minutes’ walk from Nosal slopes. The pension offers comfortable and stylish apartments. At the restaurant you can taste delicious Polish cuisine.
Pension Kurant
Villa Kurant has a 70-year-old tradition of taking care of guests. Additional services: sauna, billiards, table tennis and a common room where you can enjoy a fireplace and rest after skiing.

Skiers can use over 20 ski lifts situated on the slopes around Zakopane. The best skiing conditions can be found in Kasprowy Wierch (1985 m above sea level) which can be reached via the cable car from Kuznice. From the top, one can admire a beautiful panorama of the Tatras. The skiing season usually lasts here till the early May.
