Szklarska Poreba is situated in southwest Poland, at the foot of Karkonosze mountains – the highest range of Sudety. Very good infrastructure, beautiful nature and a favourable location in the vicinity of Prague (139 km), Wroclaw (140 km) and Vienna (280 km) makes Szklarska an attractive destination the whole year through. The largest centre for skiing is Ski Arena Szrenica (1362 m above sea level) offering trails of various degrees of difficulty. Szklarska Poreba is also a perfect location for classic skiers who will find here more than 250 km of cross-country trails. Every year “Bieg Piastow” takes place in the town – one of the most important mass long-distance ski runs in Europe.

Not far away from Szklarska Poreba one can find a picturesque village of Karpacz. The Sniezka skiing complex (1602 m) in Karpacz offers six ski trails of varying levels of difficulty, 2 chairlifts and T-bar lifts. They are also equipped with artificial snow making machines to ensure the best skiing conditions. After skiing you shouldn’t miss the town’s greatest attraction – a wooden Wang church from the 13th century that was brought here from Norway.
